Patient-derived tumor xenograft mouse model (PDX model) is a frequently used oncology research platform for studying tumor biology and testing novel anti-cancer therapy. PDX model preserves pathological and genomic characteristics of individual patients’ tumors. PDX models are generated by using freshly resected patient tumors immediately transplanted into immunocompromised rodents without an intermediate in vitro culture step to better preserve the genomic integrity and tumor heterogeneity.
PharmaLegacy has developed 367 PDX models covering 6 cancer types with full information of diagnosis and treatment history, more is under development.
