Cell mitosis is active, resulting in an increase in the number of cells in tissues or organs, called hyperplasia. There are two kinds of physiological hyperplasia and pathological hyperplasia. Physiological hyperplasia means hyperplasia occurred to meet the physiological needs, and its degree does not exceed the limit of normal situation. The compensatory hyperplasia of the rest of the body is also a physiological hyperplasia after a part of the tissue is damaged. Hypertrophy over normal range is caused by pathological cause. It is called pathological hyperplasia. In our model, we mainly studied pathological hyperplasia, which induced by IL-23 in mice.
