NOD 小鼠

Non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice are isolated from the cataract-susceptible subline of inbred strain Jcl:ICR mice at the sixth generation. In the 20th generation of inbreeding, 60% - 80% of female and 20% - 30% of male NOD mice spontaneously developed insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, and the risk of diabetes mellitus in NOD mice raised in an aseptic environment was significantly higher than that in a normal environment.

Case Study: Diabetes Mellitus Model in NOD Mice
In this study, we observed that blood glucose in NOD mice begins to increase around 6 weeks of age and plateaus at 14 weeks of age

·         When treated with Test article 1, diabetes incidence reached 25% at 9 weeks of age.

·         When treated with Test article 2 high dose 50mg/kg, diabetes incidence reached 12.5% at 9 weeks of age and 25.0% at 12 weeks of age

·         When treated with Test article 2 middle dose 10mg/kg diabetes incidence reached 12.5% at 12 weeks of age and 25.0% at 13 weeks of age

·         When treated with Test article 2 low dose 3mg/kg diabetes incidence reached 12.5% at 10 weeks of age.
