Jeffery Cowden博士是一位经验丰富的药物研发专家，他在杨森（强生旗下）、礼来、武田等国际制药企业拥有 20 余年工作经历，研究领域聚焦自身免疫性疾病、炎症性肠病、过敏性疾病及癌症。他曾发表多篇论文，探讨新型药物在类风湿性关节炎、哮喘及特应性皮炎中的疗效。职业生涯中，他参与推动了  8 项临床试验申请（IND）的提交。目前担任澎立生物副总裁，负责与国内外研发企业合作，为新型药物制定临床前研发策略。

Jeffery Cowden is an experience drug hunter with over 20 years of working experience at international pharmaceutical companies Janssen (JNJ), Eli Lilly and Takeda focusing autoimmunity, IBD, allergy and cancer.  He has published on the effects of novel drugs in RA, asthma and atopic dermatitis.  His work has contributed to 8 IND filings over his career.  He is currently Vice President at Pharmalegacy Laboratories where he collaborates with international and Chinese R&D company to design their preclinical strategy for new pharmaceutical agents.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells targeting CD19 have emerged as a powerful therapeutic tool to treat cancers.   New uses in autoimmunity have led to near-complete responses in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), idiopathic inflammatory myositis, and systemic sclerosis.    These studies support that profound B cell depletion resets the immune system to a pre-autoimmune state.While the CD19 CAR T cells’ depletion of B cells is very promising, their cost of goods, cytokine release syndrome, and other properties limit wide-scale use.    Thus, new therapies and model systems are required to find safer and more cost-effective therapeutics.This webinar will focus on the use of non-human primate (NHP) models as tools to discover next-generation therapeutics that reset the immune system to a pre-autoimmune state.
